graham63 Love Cranes ever since the early eps I was hooked with Alison’s distinctive vocals and the drumming and how everything came together simply awesome. Saw Cranes with Slowdive in Reading way back in time and it was Cranes who impressed me and left such a powerful beautiful sonic impact I love so much right to today! Favorite track: Da Da 331.

Will Walker I was at Portsmouth Poly in the late 80s and I remember seeing you play. I think you even played the student union. I've still got my treasured copy of the Fuse cassette!

ANTONY IRVINE The sound of great potential grabbing a timely opportunity with both hands.

Easy to spot the roots of their future success with the benefit of hindsight, but this set of recordings stands on its own two feet too.

Each song compares well to the official releases, and often the sparser production of the BBC session brings out elements of the vocals - the 'Love is mortal' section of Starblood on this release is pure lightning in a bottle for instance. Favorite track: Starblood.

I’ve only got myself to blame I want to take my chance and pray You’d better not stand in my way Yeah all around me is shining today I plot my future, see which way it maps I mind the pitfalls and fill the gaps Imagine I really know where it’s at... To try to prevent…this collapse Can’t seem to find my pair Though I searched everywhere Can’t seem to find my pair Though I searched everywhere There’s a thousand thoughts shining in my brain I’m filled with thoughts and feelings I can’t explain I’m filled with notions and hopes I can’t sustain Oh how I hope to pick myself up again I’ve only got myself to blame Hope for the future is starting to fade Yeah I was hoping for me and for you Oh did you hope, did you hope for me too?

Life is long and filled with warmth and sun So long as you can feel it when it comes Take a look and see what I've become No sense of anything, it's all gone numb All around is in a blaze I'm floating in an empty haze I look ahead but there's no way To stop before it falls away And all this shit, it takes it out of me Troubles stretch as far as I can see But I don't want to get down on my knees.. Life is long and filled with sun So long as you can feel it when it comes You can reach your arms out...
